With the coming of 4 terabyte hard drives, it was only a matter of time before they were certified by NAS manufacturers, such as Synology, for use in their NAS devices. As of this writing the 4 TB Seagate Hard Drive (ST4000DX000) is listed on the Synology Hard Drive Compatibility list for just about all the modern Synology NAS boxes.
